Another notable feature of the last twelve months was the boost in material investment. It is interesting to note that investment in Spain during 2008 grew by 17.7%, the largest rise in recent years.
Companies in the sector have continued to invest in a form of energy that is helping to increase productivity in the industrial sector, improve wellbeing and comfort in the home, reduce polluting emissions and create jobs, both directly and indirectly. The potential for growth remains strong: approximately 28% of the Spanish population live in towns in which there is no natural gas supply, and only 41% of all Spaniards have a household supply.
