The LNG transport fleet is expanding continually. By the end of 2007 there were more than 230 methane tankers operating and 140 vessels under construction (LNG Observer), despite the fact that some analysts think that the degree of use of the overall fleet could fall to 77.4% in 2008, 13 points below the figure at the start of this decade.
