68.7% of the natural gas reached the national system on liquefied natural gas
ships and the remaining 31.3% came via gas pipelines.
The shipments unloaded from LNG ships continued at high levels and kept our country
among the most important destinations in the world. Last year, approximately 24.2 bcm of LNG reached
Spanish terminals, around 69% of our natural gas requirements. This positioned us in third place in the world, behind
Japan and Korea and on the same level as the USA.
Last year, a total of 24.3 bcm of LNG were unloaded from ships at Spanish terminals, one of the highest figures in the world.
In addition, our country leads the ranking of European countries in the number of
unloading and re-gasification terminals and is the destination of more than 45% of the LNG unloaded in the
European Union.
