LNG offloaded at regasification plants in 2010 represented 75.6% of total supply, including gas produced in Spain.
A total of 435 tankers offloaded at Spanish terminals over the course of 2010, 35 less than during 2009. This decrease was due to the increase in the average capacity of tankers.
Spain was once again the leading destination on the Atlantic rim, and the third in the world, after Japan and Korea, in LNG arrivals.
Meanwhile, Spain continues to be ranked first in Europe in terms of the number of its offloading and regasification terminals, and in fact over 39% (2009 data) of all LNG delivered to the European Union arrives in Spain.
The storage capacity of Spain's offloading and regasification plants amounts to a sum total of 2,796,500 m3 of LNG, an increase of 12% on the previous year. Daily production capacity of power plants remains at 2,023.7 GWh/day.
